Orkut: The Match Maker

Hey friends, these days we often find many hacked profiles while surfing on orkut… these profiles necessarily have a link insisting the visitors to click on them. Once we click on them we reach an orkut-like window where we are asked to enter our user ID and password, once we enter this information, our profile is hacked.
If you are lucky, the hacker won’t reset your password and you can recover your account by simply changing your password. In case you are not that fortunate, your password is changed by the hacker and you lose your account forever. You also have to face an embarrassment among your friends for showcasing the links of vulgar websites and links, also the hacker puts an indecent display picture on your profile to attract attention.
The best way to prevent your account from such hacks is to follow a simple rule: Don’t click on any suspicious link on orkut. And don’t enter your user ID and password except the orkut window where we login. Please note that while logging in on orkut your address bar must display either google.com or orkut.com and nothing else.
Keep changing your password every month and keep a tricky one so that no one can guess it. Include mixed values including both characters and numerals and also the special symbols in your password. Talking of orkut, let us also discuss another crucial feature about which only a few of us know. It is the “crush list”. Most of us fear including anyone into our crush lists because we think that orkut will notify him/her about our action. It is correct that orkut will notify your crush about his/her inclusion in your crush list but only if the crush is mutual. i.e. he/she will be notified only if he/she has also included you into his/her crush list. This way orkut helps you in match making. Orkut opens the hidden crush only if two persons are having a crush on each other. Single sided crushes are kept hidden.
There is a simple way in which you can find out the people who have included you in their crush list. It can be done by following simple steps:
Just add all your friends as your crush and if any of your friend's choice matches yours, then you will get a mail from Orkut saying “Congratulation, you got a match”. The mail also describes the person’s orkut profile link who has added you in the crush list.
Once you have checked the mails, you can remove all friends from the crush list.
Is there any downside of this trick? Probably only this one that when there is a match, the mail is sent to both of the friends, so your friend will be more than happy to find himself/herself in the crush list of somebody who he/she has a crush on.


P.S.: Unfortunately when I used this trick I didn’t get any notification from orkut, suggesting that no girl added me in her crush list. :(
