Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in the last over of the match. And all hopes of RR winning the trophy for the second consecutive time went home with the players. Lakshmiratan Shukla played spoiler. But it was nice to see that the royals fought till the end, they didn’t let their chances go in air like many other teams. They played like true champions and were the real fighters.
From the very beginning of the tournament it was clear that RR will miss the presence of the players like Shane Watson (player of the tournament last year), Sohail Tanvir (Last year’s purple cap holder), and Kamran Akmal (both for gloves and bat). And to add to the miseries, Shaun Tait denied of his availability for the tournament. As if it wasn’t enough there was an injury waiting for Kamran Khan(the super over bowler who held his nerves at that moment) and also a suspicious action complaint by the umpires, a few more players faced the axe for the same but were relieved later.
Shane Warne was at his best as far as the captaincy was concerned. In the match against Mumbai Indians he brought a lost match out of no where and converted it into an unbelievable victory. He also managed to take Sachin Tendulkar’s wicket which was taken as the battle of the old rivals. And how can we forget that glass of beer??...:)
In spite of all the problems Royals managed to give a good fight to the rivals and made a mark. Super over against the Kolkata knight Riders and Sachin’s wicket by Warnie are going to be among the top ten highlights of the IPL-2009.
After winning the match against the Royals the celebrations by the KKR camp could misguide an ordinary person to think that they have won a berth into the semi-final. Someone should have told them that they were last on the tables. But we can’t take away the credit from these guys, Lakshmiratan Shukla held his nerves in spite of the fall of their top order, even the bowling department did well though most of the wickets were taken by our own Ravindra Jadeja. Viewers wondered if he was playing for Royals or Knight Riders. The way he got Yusuf and Henderson out was really foolish. He wanted to run on every single ball.
Well it is very difficult to see your favourite team falling flat in front of the Biggest Losers and I am still to come in terms with that defeat. It was completely unbelievable for me to face this harsh truth. Arey yar itne saare matches me se in riders ko yahi match mila tha kya jeetne ke liye..??:x
But it’s over for now and all we can do is wait for the next season. I hope things will work in Royals' favour once the IPL comes back to India, especially Jaipur. Hopefully full strength team will join the Royals in the next season and they’ll bring back the trophy to the place where it actually belongs..
HALLA BOL…!!
P.S.: Rajasthan Royals is the highest profit making team of the season, we are first again but in a different field.
